Work has recently completed on a vacant warehouse with attached office building. The office building flat roof was a flat to pitch conversion using a Datum Systems pre-engineered lightweight steel elevate propped ‘rafter’ system with hipped ends onto the existing concrete deck. The dilapidated warehouse was completely refurbished using a 1.6mm thick hot-dip galvanised steel substructure directly above the existing purlins. This formed a cavity depth of approximately 100mm between the steel top sheet and the lining panel allowing insulation to be introduced. New brake-pressed outer sheets were fitted. The new roof sheeting is 0.7mm thick with an outer coating of 200 micron PVC Plastisol in Goosewing Grey. The substrate material is hot dip galvanised sheet steel with the reverse face having a protective coating of light grey alkyd paint washcoat. The outer sheets are fixed onto the new steel substructure using self-drilling/tapping carbon steel fixings. A new streamline gutter system was installed and new roller shutter doors supplied to complete the works.
