Britannia Superfine
Our client was in need of extra production space and purchased a neighbouring factory unit. It had been a furniture warehouse and was in an advanced state of dilapidation. We stripped and removed all the asbestos cement roofing, cladding, guttering and ancillaries and replaced them with composite panels, polycarbonate rooflights and plastisol coated steel flashings. It was important to provide a light, airy and hygienic environment for the manufacture and packaging of foodstuffs.
A production line manufacturing confections for all the major supermarket chains has now been installed with a consequent improvement in production, hygiene and the working environment for the staff. The improved levels of insulation provided a stabilised temperature, which is essential for the production of sweets and chocolate.
The total area for cladding and sheeting was approximately 4,000 square metres.
The exterior of the building was finished in Ocean Blue HPS200 Plastisol to match the customer’s company livery.
